Hi, I'm Nat

I'm a writer. I currently do all of my writing in two newsletters:

Infinite Play is focused on Life & Philosophy. It's my attempt to eventually create at least one or two pieces of writing good enough to last after I die.

And CryptoNat is my more technical newsletter focused on crypto (especially gaming).

I used to write about a lot of other topics on this site, but that feels like a different phase of life now. You can find those articles archived here. Though some of the best writing is in my old newsletter, which I sent every Monday from May 2016 to May 2022.

I've also published my notes from 250+ books, articles, and speeches in case you want to check those out.

Finally, I am easiest to reach on Twitter. Say hi there if you enjoy any of my work in the places above.

"As a longtime newsletter creator, I'm also a newsletter "connoisseur" and subscribe to 50+ newsletters. A tiny sliver of those make it to my "must read list" and Nat's Medley is high on that list. The newsletter is consistent in its ability to delight me, with a provocative piece that I would have missed or a business tactic to help me scale RadReads. I highly recommend this newsletter to entrepreneurs, creators, executives — and anyone who digs intelligent and unique ideas."

I would recommend this medley to friend and stranger alike, it's an appreciable way to pull yourself out of the abyss of online, social-media-borne echo chambers. "Honestly, the wide variety of topics in the Medley such as business, health, technology, world, etc almost always align with what I am interested in and if they don't, I look at it as something I might want to be interested in. Along with having greatly curated articles, you also do an amazing job at boiling the information down into an abstract that is concise enough to get the main gist across yet juicy enough to want to click the link and read the whole article."

Joe Damelio

"I read Nat’s Medley every time I get back from elementary school, and you may be asking why is a 11 year old reading newsletters? It’s because the emails are so enjoyable to read and he actually takes the time to make it look good. He organizes it in a way that stands out from the rest. Keep up the Videos on your YouTube channel and by the way he didn’t pay me to say this."

Jeva seguis

"Nat's Medley is one of the 3 newsletters that I'm signed up to - because it actually delivers interesting and useful information, instead of just producing content for content's sake. "Out of the hundreds of newsletters I have subscribed to (and cancelled), yours just sticks. It's the honesty with which you share that makes it both useful and compelling. You come off as calmly hopeful and authentic. Love that you moved into crypto as I feel myself being pulled there too, even from classical music."

As someone who doesn’t follow (or really care about) most traditional news, I really appreciate hearing Nat’s thoughtful takes on everything from the latest critiques of Beyond Meat to intriguing applications of the Lindy Effect."

Brian Jansen

"Great newsletter. With the amount of information that is out there, it is extremely useful to have the tools to dilute the information you receive fast and efficiently (getting everything of use out of it). This newsletter is a perfect example of information dilution that works effectively. It's the goldilocks equivalent of newsletters. Not too much information, not too little information, it's just right."

Elmer Hoogland

"I love the Medley! It's one of the only email newsletters I open and actually read all the way through every single week."

Josh Arras

Nathan Epemolu

"Nat's newsletter is outstanding. My Inbox is filled with non-sense, ranging from discounts at online stores that I've never shopped at to Todoist sending me daily reminders of my never-ending to-do list. But within all this noise, Nat's newsletter really stands out and is a joy to read through every week!"

Aryan Yadav

"Nat's Monday Medley is the ONLY email I look forward to getting in my inbox each week! I always get to read about the latest interesting happenings in health, business, social/politics, and self-improvement related topics that I never would've come across on my own. 10 thumbs up!"

Bryan Dubno

"In a world where each of us is over-saturated with information, good curation is invaluable. Nat's Monday Medley is the single best newsletter that aggregates really interesting internet content across many topics— food, health, tech, business, and much more. It's one of the few newsletters I read diligently each week."

Myles Snider

"My favorite thing about Nat's work are his book digests. They are thorough, engaging, light and best of all, relevant enough for you to incorporate in your own life. You save me so much time!"

Raghav B

"I took a job out of high school at IBM before going to university – in 1989. I had email and instant messaging on a mainframe called WARVM5 (Warwick in England, Virtual Machine 5). After my undergrad I got a job at Goldman Sachs, and was one of the first people to get email, in 1994. It is incredible to think that before that, all internal communication was by paper memo, and voicemail. (For example, if you made an error that resulted in a profit or loss, you had to leave a voicemail for the partners taking responsibility and outlining steps to address the issue). Within a few years, we were deluged by email, and it absorbed a huge percentage of our time. People generally either filed nothing, or everything. (I adopted David Allen’s Getting Things Done in Microsoft Outlook). Search tools back then were appalling, so filing nothing was hardly an option – until x1 search came along, which changed everything for me. Wind forward to 2021, I have left my finance career and am training as a coach & legal mediator, so I don’t have to suffer an employing organisation’s email disfunction. Much of what I read I pull from various sources – Twitter, Pocket, websites, etc. I get a very limited amount of news and information pushed to me, (partly because I still aim for inbox-zero). Your email is one of those push sources. It is perfectly judged for frequency, length, and strike rate of interesting content – as a result I read it from start to finish each week. There is much to provoke my thought process and to explore."

Tim Johnston

"I've subscribed to hundreds of newsletters over the years and Nat's is one of the only ones I still read weekly. It's hard to believe it's free!"

Luke Talbot

"I'm consistently blown away by the breadth of the medley. Every issue I learn something new, often about a topic I didn't expect to find. I love that I can quickly skim it and get everything I need without having to click, but can dive deeper when I want to."

Andrew

"I read a lot, from newsletters and blogs to books. Most of them seem kind of similar in a way but Nat has got something that makes his writing seem really interesting and unique. There are insights, but it's not a overload, it's subtle and balanced. I really look forward to his newsletter every week. Also his YouTube channel is really good do check it out."

Abhishek

"The Medley is one of few newsletters I read as they come out. Each medley is filled with well though out insights on various topics that are cool and interesting."

N Sharveshwaran

"The Monday Medley every time provides me with an interesting food for thought, and more often than not it provides me with new perspectives. Nothing more I could ask for from a piece of content."

Lukas Steib

“There are few newsletters that I always open and take the time to read; Nat’s Monday Medley is one of them. I appreciate the time he takes to curate the content he shares along with the high-level overviews he writes.”

Jeff Doehler

"I live in the UK and started receiving your Monday Medley after reading your published work on Medium; I find it has the right balance of information and I always find something new that I find of interest. I like the breakdown of topics and the clear explanations to how your links you provide will benefit or inform us the reader."

Carol Ainge

"Brief, concise, educational. One of the few newsletters I look forward to opening each week."

Peter Askew

"I so enjoy the lead- in thread, always attention grabbers!! Nat lines up the medleys & gives you options to click on the links if your interested in hearing more, because let’s face it, time and options rule the world. 🌎"

Sherri Johnston

"I didn't know I could get this excited for Mondays. Nat not only summarizes interesting topics tremendously well, the content itself is so relevant I often can't help but dive deeper and click on 3-4 articles to learn more."

Luke Walquist

"Not sure how he does it but Nat scours the web to pull out the most interesting/useful content so you don't have to. The snippets he shares are enough if I'm strapped for time but always find one or two worth diving deeper into. I've shared with plenty of friends but this is one of the few newsletters I look forward weekly."

Grant Horejsi

"Great weekly digest of insightful and educational reads across a wide range of topics. One of the few emails I almost always open, and I often can't help but dig more into a handful of the articles. Come to think of it, I kind of hate the Medley because every Monday, I think I'm going to have such a focused and productive morning, and then as soon as I go in my inbox, I can't help but read the Medley and its links. Though it's definitely led me to some useful insights and learnings so I guess it evens out."
