Hi, I'm Nat

I founded the marketing agency Growth Machine, and teach the popular Roam course "Effortless Output."

This site hosts all of my writing on psychology, self-education, entrepreneurship, marketing, philosophy, health, finance, and more.

I've also published my notes from 250+ books, articles, and speeches. And if that's not enough, you can also read or listen to some of my features on other sites.

And if you're a curious person, you should definitely join the 30,000+ other people on my newsletter, the "Monday Medley." It’s one email a week with everything interesting I’ve read or found, plus new articles and book notes.

"As a longtime newsletter creator, I'm also a newsletter "connoisseur" and subscribe to 50+ newsletters. A tiny sliver of those make it to my "must read list" and Nat's Medley is high on that list. The newsletter is consistent in its ability to delight me, with a provocative piece that I would have missed or a business tactic to help me scale RadReads. I highly recommend this newsletter to entrepreneurs, creators, executives — and anyone who digs intelligent and unique ideas."

It's a good blend of different, interesting topics. His design is also better and easier to read than most (not giant blocks of text, more scannable). I'd highly recommend it!"

Yet the Monday Medley stands against the crowds and delivers a newsletter that is bound by no imaginary scope and leaves the reader with a feeling of an open horizon."

Bonnie

"Nat's Monday Medley has earned its position in my inbox as one of my three favourite weekly subscriptions. I feel that If I'm going to read anything, it may as well be uplifting, enlightening and worth thinking about or reflecting upon. Since I'm in Australia I get it earlier than most and I read it top to bottom as soon as it lands, it's like picking up the prettiest seashells from the seaside before the crowds arrive."

Roland Munyard

"For a time longer than I care to remember accurately, I've enjoyed Nat Eliason's Monday Medley. I've been receiving useful tips, articles, thoughts, ideas, and announcements from Nat Eliason since the first one he sent, a compilation of what were previously individual alerts. Introduce yourself to a new perspective: join the list."

Milos Mijatovic

"I love that it is a quick read but every idea and word is thought provoking and makes me think about the bigger picture of life. It doesn't feel like generic text but more like well thought out insight into how you think and things you wrestle with in your mind."

Antares Vargas

"I took a job out of high school at IBM before going to university – in 1989. I had email and instant messaging on a mainframe called WARVM5 (Warwick in England, Virtual Machine 5). After my undergrad I got a job at Goldman Sachs, and was one of the first people to get email, in 1994. It is incredible to think that before that, all internal communication was by paper memo, and voicemail. (For example, if you made an error that resulted in a profit or loss, you had to leave a voicemail for the partners taking responsibility and outlining steps to address the issue). Within a few years, we were deluged by email, and it absorbed a huge percentage of our time. People generally either filed nothing, or everything. (I adopted David Allen’s Getting Things Done in Microsoft Outlook). Search tools back then were appalling, so filing nothing was hardly an option – until x1 search came along, which changed everything for me. Wind forward to 2021, I have left my finance career and am training as a coach & legal mediator, so I don’t have to suffer an employing organisation’s email disfunction. Much of what I read I pull from various sources – Twitter, Pocket, websites, etc. I get a very limited amount of news and information pushed to me, (partly because I still aim for inbox-zero). Your email is one of those push sources. It is perfectly judged for frequency, length, and strike rate of interesting content – as a result I read it from start to finish each week. There is much to provoke my thought process and to explore."

Tim Johnston

"Nat is on the ground building his business and the Medley is a peek into what goes into that. I enjoy getting exposed to new people, articles, and concepts through the newsletter. 🙌"

Roxine Kee

"Great newsletter. With the amount of information that is out there, it is extremely useful to have the tools to dilute the information you receive fast and efficiently (getting everything of use out of it). This newsletter is a perfect example of information dilution that works effectively. It's the goldilocks equivalent of newsletters. Not too much information, not too little information, it's just right."

Elmer Hoogland

"Nat’s weekly email is a breath of fresh air in my inbox. There are VERY few email lists I have been on for an extended period of time and this one made the cut. The info is super diverse, intriguing, and delivered in a no BS way. I also love supporting a fellow entrepreneur. Nat’s journey is really inspiring as I build multiple businesses and I’d definitely call him a mentor of mine."

Josh Walker

"Love the eclectic collection of articles across different domains as well as the accompanying commentary, one of the few I look forward to each week."

Karan Malhotra

"Nat's Medley is the type of newsletter that gets a 100% open rate from me. I'm pretty sure I read every single one of them in the past year."

Kacper Staniul

"I'm enjoying it. Sometimes the whole newsletter might be too much to read so I'll just pick a sentence/link that looks interesting and take a look at that."

Samuel Gracida

"Not sure how he does it but Nat scours the web to pull out the most interesting/useful content so you don't have to. The snippets he shares are enough if I'm strapped for time but always find one or two worth diving deeper into. I've shared with plenty of friends but this is one of the few newsletters I look forward weekly."

Grant Horejsi

Nicho Peterson

"Not so easy to find info that shifts my understanding in curiosity, sympathy, and often, delight. I look to these newsletters with deepening respect."

Tanuj

"Nat's newsletter is outstanding. My Inbox is filled with non-sense, ranging from discounts at online stores that I've never shopped at to Todoist sending me daily reminders of my never-ending to-do list. But within all this noise, Nat's newsletter really stands out and is a joy to read through every week!"

Aryan Yadav

"I look forward to receiving the Melody every week. The articles Nat shares always pique my interest and offer a new perspective into a great variety to topics."

Brian Feldman

"Nat's Medley is one of the 3 newsletters that I'm signed up to - because it actually delivers interesting and useful information, instead of just producing content for content's sake. His views sometimes radical and he represents them with full integrity. And he clearly researches a TON for the Medley. I always save them for a time when I actually have the mental capacity to go through them and process the snippets. Love it."

Balint Korosi

There are insights, but it's not a overload, it's subtle and balanced. I really look forward to his newsletter every week. Also his YouTube channel is really good do check it out."

Abhishek

"I love the Medley and [Nat's] content in general. My favorite parts are: The "counter-intuitive" content that makes me think outside the box (example: landfills being, arguably, more eco-friendly/sustainable than recycling) and all things fitness/health that Nat shares. I feel like he has a fun, fair, and balanced approach to learning these things and sharing."

"Great weekly digest of insightful and educational reads across a wide range of topics. One of the few emails I almost always open, and I often can't help but dig more into a handful of the articles. Come to think of it, I kind of hate the Medley because every Monday, I think I'm going to have such a focused and productive morning, and then as soon as I go in my inbox, I can't help but read the Medley and its links. Though it's definitely led me to some useful insights and learnings so I guess it evens out."
