Universe & Reading Order

This novella exists within the same fictional universe as my debut novel Husk, but reading Husk first is not required. The two works can be enjoyed in either order. The Birth of Paradise takes place 100 years before the events of Husk, focusing on Felix's final day on Earth before transferring his consciousness into Meru.

Tone & Style

Unlike Husk's traditional sci-fi adventure thriller approach, The Birth of Paradise emphasizes philosophical and emotional themes with a slower narrative burn leading to its climax. At approximately 100 pages, you can complete it within an evening or two.

I think it's the best of the three books I've written.

Plot Synopsis

A mysterious plague threatens civilization while disgraced tech mogul Felix Craft claims to have conquered death through creating Meru, a digital paradise for humanity's survival. Journalist Rohan Patel documents this momentous achievement but discovers troubling truths: "Paradise is not what it seems. Felix is not a savior."
