About the Book

The Birth of Paradise takes place in the same fictional universe as my first novel, Husk, but you don't need to have read that one first. The stories can be enjoyed in either reading order.

For those familiar with Husk, this novella is set 100 years earlier and focuses on protagonist Felix's final day on Earth before his consciousness transfers into Meru.

Thematic Approach

Unlike Husk's action-oriented sci-fi thriller style, this novella emphasizes philosophical and emotional depth with a much slower burn to the climactic finish. At approximately 100 pages, it offers a brief reading experience suitable for completion in an evening or two.

Plot Summary

The narrative follows journalist Rohan Patel, who arrives at tech mogul Felix Craft's estate to document humanity's last hope: Meru, a digital paradise created to preserve civilization during a devastating plague. However, Rohan discovers unsettling truths about both the project and its creator, ultimately possessing knowledge of how to stop Felix.

I'm confident that this is the strongest work among my three published books.
