295: Resolution Ideas

This is the Monday Medley, a newsletter that goes out, you guessed it, every Monday. I republish it here for sharing and referencing, but if you'd like to sign up you can do so right here:

Happy Monday!

I'll be honest with you, I started this at 4:48. I put it off all day because I was having so much fun working on Crypto Raiders.

So once again I'm going to keep it short, and hopefully return to the regularly scheduled programming next week.

Since it's the season of resolutions, here's an idea: quit drinking. Looking back at my 2021, quitting drinking was the second-most impactful thing I did last year.

I'd recommend having a baby too (number one thing from 2021), but that's not always the most relevant or practical advice depending on your life situation.

If completely quitting is scary, just try it for an uncomfortable amount of time, like 3-6 months, and see how it feels.

I've been amazed at how easy it ended up being once I drew that line in the sand.

If you weren't already thinking about it, or if you think that's a dumb change to make, that's fine. It's probably not necessary for everyone. But if you've been thinking about it or are on the fence, consider this a nudge of encouragement. It feels great, and I wish I'd done it sooner.

This year I'm not going to get any food delivered. I find that's the only time when I really break my rough "food rules," so cutting out delivery should help with the last bit of diet optimization.

Anyway, I hope your new year is off to a great start! I can't believe I've been writing this for nearly 6 years now. I'm grateful to all of you who have been on this journey with me ❤️

Best,
Nat
