Medley 71: Crypto reading, massive animals, suing Equifax, drug overdoses, and eptions

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend.

New Articles : I published two articles this past week. The first is a list of everything I read that was helpful for learning about Bitcoin, Ethereum, and cryptocurrency in general. If you're interested in the space, this list is a great way to get started. The second article is about strategies I've developed for moving to and getting comfortable in a new city, whether you're there for a week or the foreseeable future.

New Casts : Nat Chat this week was dedicated to helping promote the launch of "Made You Think," my new podcast with Neil Soni where we cover big ideas from thought-provoking books that we've enjoyed over the years. If you haven't checked it out yet, our launch episodes are on Antifragile, Letters from a Stoic, and Mastery.

New Lessons : This week I published my notes and lessons from "The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin" (7/10), and "Nobody Wants to Read Your Shit" by Steven Pressfield (7/10).

The opioid epidemic is getting crazy, 7 of the 10 top drugs that cause overdose deaths are being prescribed to their victims, and the most common one, heroin, is what people have been turning to when they can't get their prescriptions fulfilled anymore.

There were some HUGE extinct animals that used to roam the earth, including a ground sloth taller than us (when on all fours). If you haven't read Sapiens, there's an interesting section in it on how whenever we showed up in a new environment, we pretty much wiped out all the megafauna which is why so many are extinct now.

If you were part of the Equifax breach, this chatbot will let you easily create the paperwork to sue them.

There's a very long list of common misconceptions on Wikipedia if you want to spend an afternoon realizing how many falsities you've propagated over the years.

Depression may be treatable with anti-inflammatory medication and techniques, which explains why some things (like exercise and heat stress) are so effective against it.

And just for fun, here's an explosive method for cleaning your cat's litterbox.

Have a great week!
Nat
